Road Minds privacy policy

Last updated: 24 October 2026

This policy explains how we collect and use personal information when you visit this website, buy the Road Minds Calm Driving Cards or take part in the Road Minds instructor trial.

1. Who we are

Road Minds is a digital learning product provided by Drive Automatic. The data controller is Anthony Moon, trading as Drive Automatic.

To contact us about your data, email Anthony@roadmindslearning.co.uk, call 0330 094 6898 or use the Drive Automatic contact form. You can also email Anthony@roadmindslearning.co.uk, including about trial accounts.

2. Buying the Calm Driving Cards

Payment is taken by Stripe. When you buy, Stripe collects your email address, payment details and, where required, billing details. We do not see or store your full card number. Stripe acts under its own privacy policy, available at stripe.com/gb/privacy.

From Stripe we receive your email address, name (if given), the amount paid and the payment reference. We use these to send your private access link, confirm your purchase, provide support and keep financial records. Our lawful bases are performance of our contract with you and our legal obligation to keep accounting records.

Your access link works on up to two devices. To enforce this, our system records which devices have activated your link.

3. The instructor trial

If you register for the 30-day instructor trial we store your name, school, email, password hash, invitation and account status, trial dates, terms acceptance, public registration and feedback agreement, recent login time, page-access records and submitted feedback. We use these to provide the trial, protect access and evaluate and improve the product. Security uses a short-lived hashed network identifier to limit login attempts.

We do not ask for pupil details; please do not include them in feedback. Our bases are performance of the trial agreement and our legitimate interests in security, product improvement and contacting driving professionals about the trial. Every invitation includes an opt-out link, and opt-out addresses are kept on a suppression list so they are not contacted again.

4. Contact and support requests

If you phone us or use the Drive Automatic contact form, we use the details you give us to answer your question and resolve any problem with your purchase or access. Our basis is our legitimate interest in responding to you, or the performance of our contract where it concerns your purchase.

5. Cookies and local storage

We do not use advertising cookies. The free sample stores your saved cards in your own browser (local storage) so they are still there next time. The full card app and trial portal use essential storage or session cookies to keep you signed in and protect forms. Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout pages.

6. Who we share data with

We do not sell your data or use it for automated decisions about you. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they use legally recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

7. How long we keep it

8. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask for access to, correction of, or erasure of your data, ask us to restrict its use, ask for a copy in a portable format where applicable, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. To make a request, contact us using the details above. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the chance to help first.

9. Changes

We will update this page if the way we use data changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
